The hardest
thing about looking or having a job is to pass the job interview. It should take a lot of courage and confidence
to pass the interview. So to make yourself prepared, here’s a list of top 5
most common interview questions that you will be asked:
1.
Tell me something about yourself
Based
on my experience, this is the very first question the interviewer would always ask
you. Asking this interview question, you should give brief information about
yourself. It basically pertains to your educational background, previous jobs
if any, skills, talents and attitude or behavior. It is best to highlight your
positive side or character and if ever they would ask a follow up question in
which the answer is somehow negative, still put a spice on it. It means that
you should prove that you’ve learned from the negative experience you had, and
become more eager to achieve success.
2.
Why did you quit your job?
If you mentioned that you just
had a previous job or you currently have a job, the interviewer would also
wonder why you want to leave that company. We have different reasons why we opt
to leave our job. Sometimes, it is basically because we’re not anymore happy
with it because we experienced something bad at work. Or there are some
instances like family, health or personal reasons that leave us no choice but
to leave our job. You should be honest in answering this interview question but
make sure that you don’t over bad mouth something on your previous employer. Try
to give a valid reason, put yourself in their shoes and analyze if they can be
sure that you can give commitment to their company.
3.
Why did you choose our company/Why do you want
to work for us?
After
the interviewer had an idea of what kind of person you are, they will try to
analyze if you are suited for the job they are offering. So from there, they
would also like to know why you choose their company when they think that you
are better suited or fit to another companies or jobs out there.
Of course,
most of us look for a job for practical or financial reasons and as much as
possible we apply for several companies because we are looking for a best job
or company that can give us our needs. But it is not good to answer the
interviewer that we choose them because of practical or money reasons.
To
answer this, you must search something about the company. Take note of their
positive side that other companies don’t have. From that, you can focus on
saying that you want to work in a company with this and that etc.
4.
What major challenges or problems did you face
from your previous job?
This question is how the
interviewer will assess your skill and ability to face stressful situations and
work with a fast paced environment. So better highlight your strengths and give
a specific example or situation as well.
5.
How long will you work for us?
Interview questions above already show or tell your strengths
and weaknesses so once the interviewer knew it, there last question or at least
second to the last question would be this one. And again this is to test your
commitment.
Be smart and look confident upon answering these questions or
upon facing an employer or interviewer. It is the number one key you should
learn and to have it, you should practice, practice and practice!
